Demystifying Character Development

  • Pacific Northwest Writers' Association 317 NW Gilman Blvd., Ste. 8, Issaquah, 98027 United States (map)

Nicole is teaching a fun, intensive class on character development at the world headquarters of the Pacific Northwest Writers' Association: The Writer's Cottage in Issaquah!

"Characters are the basis of story, but how we develop them depends on who they are and the role they play. How do you keep a heroic character interesting? how do you write an anti-hero worth rooting for? How do you add dimension to your villains? And what about those characters who refuse to change? When it comes to character development, each of these characters need a different approach. In this class, we will learn about the different kinds of main characters: how to tell them apart, how to realistically develop them, and how to make them jump off the page and into the hearts of your readers."
